New 13-inch MacBook Pro (Non-Retina Screen) – Unboxing/Reveal
The time has finally arrived! I finally upgraded my super old school PowerBook 15” G4 to the new MacBook Pro 13″. I decided to go with the non-Retina screen, as I am no longer doing as much photo editing as I had been. Here are the specs for the MacBook Pro that I got today:
Hardware
- 2.9GHz Dual-core Intel Core i7, Turbo Boost up to 3.6GHz
- 8GB 1600MHz DDR3 SDRAM — 2x4GB
- 750GB Serial ATA Drive @ 5400 rpm
- SuperDrive 8x (DVD±R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW)
I have already notice a huge difference in the speed of my MacBook Pro vs the recent “PC” with Windows 8 I had been using. Lets just say that it is wicked fast!
I am still figuring out all the nuances with the new OS as it is much different than my old Powerbook, but I should have it all figured out soon. I will be downloading Maverick tonight while I am sleeping because it did not already come preloaded. This so far what I have downloaded on to it, mainly writing software:
Now let’s cue some gratuitous pictures of my awesome new machine!
I will follow up with a review post in a couple of weeks once I get used to everything. Until then have a great day and be happy!
