Ghost is a blogging platform that focuses on publishing content and nothing else. It started off as an idea for a Wordpress plugin that would strip out the default WordPress dashboard and replace it with Ghost’s alternative one. Although, a few months into development the team realised it was going to be too much work. Then came the decision to build a full-fledged blogging platform. Following a very successful Kickstarter campaign and months of development – the first version of Ghost was released to the public.

So, what makes Ghost so special? It features a stunning dashboard, an elegant markdown editor and an elegant design. There are plenty of different themes to choose from in the Ghost Marketplace as well. Although, even the default theme, Casper, brings beauty to your blog. For those that like having something unique, it is also pretty simple to create your own themes using a framework known as Handlebars.js.

It has received praise from sites such as Mashable, TechCrunch and many more who are all saying the same thing, Ghost is the future of blogging. I really do recommend you try it out.
