Friends List App on Xbox One

Microsoft has released a video showing off how the friends list app works on Xbox One. This app does look a lot similar to how the Windows 8 UI operates because after all, Xbox One does run on a kernel of Windows. As you can see in the video, gamer pictures on Xbox One are in full 1080p HD and are very large. The users shown with smaller gamer pictures mostly likely are users on Xbox Live via Xbox 360 and haven’t upgraded to Xbox One yet. But that goes to show that you can see all your friends across people on Xbox One and Xbox 360.

One of the major changes to the friends list coming to Xbox One is the ability to follow users instead of traditionally sending them a friend request like on Xbox 360. Instead you can follow a user and if they choose to follow you back, you then become friends with them. You can follow anybody you choose, much like how Twitter works. You can have an unlimited amount of people following you.

There are tons of other cool features on the friends list app such, as being able to group certain friends into a favorites group and using your voice, you can snap the friends list app to the side to have a live activity feed of what your Xbox Live friends are currently doing.

So what do you all think of the friends list app on Xbox One? Check out the video http://youtu.be/ktpqoJfTR3g
